PixGlobe reads your photo library's metadata on your device — including where and when each photo was taken — and turns thousands of scattered photos into meaningful places and visits, not hundreds of overlapping pins.

II — The PixGlobe Flow

Let your swipe take you places

A truly open-world experience.

Most photo apps move in a straight line: one way in, one way back, and a button to press before you are allowed somewhere else. PixGlobe lets you wander. Pan the globe. Tap a pin and the photographs rise. Swipe a photograph and the globe flies with it. Press play and a slideshow carries you place to place — then grab the map mid-flight, pan to a different continent, tap another pin, and let a new slideshow begin. Nothing to unlock, no mode to leave, no dead ends.

You end up moving the way memory actually moves — never in a straight line, drawn from one place to the next by whatever catches your eye. Butterflies don't fly in straight lines either. The interface stays out of it.

III — Memory lane

Press play and retrace your steps

Open a single photograph and press play. PixGlobe moves through your photographs in the order you lived them — and the globe flies to each place as it arrives. A morning in one city becomes an afternoon in the next becomes the road between them, drawn as you actually travelled it.

Press the other arrow and the day runs backwards, all the way home. Loop it and a whole trip re-runs itself while you sit there. Stay inside one place and it's that afternoon again; open it up to your whole timeline and it's years of them. The controls fade while it plays — touch the screen and it holds right where you are.

Explore the photos you forgot you had

Browse by place, filter by year or month, search the places you've been by name or by date, or travel along your own timeline. Your whole Camera Roll is one tap away, and photos without location data are never lost — they live in their own Unmapped collection. Tap the heart on a photograph and it's a favourite in your own Photos library.

PixGlobe opens in Vintage Atlas — sepia, hand-drawn, and free for good. PixGlobe Pro unlocks the picker, so you can re-light the same world in any of the others.

PixGlobe is free to use, and it stays free — the globe, your entire library mapped onto it, this year's photographs, and the Vintage Atlas theme. No time limit, nothing to cancel. PixGlobe Pro is a one-time unlock, not a subscription: it opens the whole map for good. Apple handles the purchase, and PixGlobe never sees your payment details.

VII — First principles

Your library stays yours

Privacy in PixGlobe isn't a setting. It's the architecture. Everything here is true of the app you'll download.

Never uploaded

PixGlobe never uploads your photos to us or Mapbox — it stores only a local index of their metadata. Thumbnails are prepared by the system and kept bounded and purgeable. Sharing a photo sends a copy only where you choose.

Your library, your changes

Favourite, share, or delete a photo from PixGlobe and the change belongs to your library: Favourite and Delete update Photos on your device (Apple may sync those through iCloud), and Share hands a rendered copy — with its embedded GPS location removed — to a destination you choose. Delete always asks the system's own confirmation first.

No photo data in map requests

The globe's map imagery loads over the network; your photo locations stay in the on-device index. PixGlobe never asks where you are — only where your photos were taken.

Analytics off — and silent

No account. No sign-in. No ads. Analytics are off by default — and in this version, no analytics events are transmitted anywhere even if you turn them on.

Yours to erase, any time

One button removes PixGlobe's on-device index, derived places and visits, caches, and settings — with no cross-app tracking by PixGlobe or the bundled map SDK. Read the full Privacy Policy →
